Loam keeps your plant data on your device. There's no account, and we don't sell your information or track you across other apps.
The water readings, doses, plant details, photos, and reminder settings you enter are saved locally on your iPhone. Loam works without an account and does not upload this information to us.
If you grant location permission, Loam uses your approximate location to request local weather from Apple Weather (WeatherKit). This lets Loam flag conditions — like weather — that can move your plant's chemistry, and time re-check the soil reminders accordingly. Your location is not stored on our servers or sold; weather requests are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. You can deny or revoke location access in iOS Settings and keep using the app.
To understand which features help and where people get stuck, Loam can send a small number of anonymous usage events (for example, "finished onboarding"). These events never include your plant readings, doses, location, photos, name, or any identifier, and your IP address is not recorded. Analytics are optional — you can turn "Share anonymous usage" off at any time in Settings, and no usage data is sent when it's off.
Everything is in your hands: use Settings → Export to take your data with you, or Settings → Delete all data to erase it from the device. Deleting the app also removes its on-device data.
Loam is a home plant-maintenance tool and is not directed to children under 13.
